This course, designed and delivered by employee relations experts, covers:

  • Unfair Dismissal Law:
    • What it is, key tests to determine unfair dismissal, and practical risk mitigation strategies
  • Adverse Action:
    • Defining adverse action, risk mitigation strategies, and understanding associated penalties
  • Distinguishing Workplace Bullying:
    • Clarifying what does not constitute bullying, with strategies to manage behaviour and performance concerns
  • Defence Against Psychological Injury Claims:
    • Practical strategies to reduce risk arising from management processes
  • Preliminary Investigations:
    • Recording initial events, assessing issues (behaviour vs. performance), drafting complainant and accused letters, risk assessment, witness interviews, and evaluating evidence to decide on the appropriate course of action
  • Handling Disciplinary Matters:

  • Duration: 6-hour full-day workshop or two 3-hour sessions (with at least one week between sessions)
  • Delivery: Face-to-face, online via Teams, or a blend of both
  • Engagement: Maximum 24 attendees per session for high interaction
  • Pricing: $4,900 per workshop or $4,500 for clients with a current MyEMS subscription
  •  (Excludes GST, room hire, catering, and reasonable travel/accommodation expenses outside the Adelaide metropolitan area.)
