Early Intervention Management

Provide leaders with the knowledge, skills and confidence to intervene early to minimise psycho-social risk and improve engagement.

Developing early intervention leadership capability is key to reducing behavioural-based psychological risk. When leaders can identify and address unsafe behaviours before they escalate, they create an environment where proactive actions protect and strengthen workplace culture.

This course, designed and delivered by employee relations and leadership experts, covers:

  • The way our brains influence the outcomes of early intervention conversations and strategies to mitigate these effects.ย
  • The critical importance of managing the red zone to ensure that the green zone is protected (e.g., psychological safety and employee engagement).ย
  • The key principles that shape a valid reason to manage below-the-line behaviour and/or poor performance.ย
  • Two simple principles to mitigate the risk of workplace bullying and stress claims being successful.ย
  • The benefits of positive feedback and how these can be amplified by going beyond basic courtesies.ย
  • Best practices for maintaining accurate records, including file notes and how to plan, conduct, and record preliminary investigations.ย
  • How to plan and deliver effective early intervention conversations using EMAโ€™s Early Intervention Conversation Framework.ย
