Contact Officer

Provide your Contact Officers with knowledge, skills and confidence to support the initial handling of complaints and the early resolution of workplace behaviour concerns.  

This training boosts your organisation’s ability to resolve workplace behaviour concerns effectively—allowing designated Contact Officers to address issues without needing management intervention.


Designed and delivered by employee relations and leadership experts, this program covers:

  • The brain’s organising principles and their impact on emotions and behaviour.
  • How destructive workplace cultures develop and the negative effects of unsafe behaviours on psychological safety, wellbeing, productivity, and engagement.
  • Key legal duties under Respect at Work, WHS, and harassment laws.
  • How to identify unlawful behaviour, including discrimination, unreasonable conduct, workplace bullying, sexual harassment, and racial harassment.
  • The roles and responsibilities of a Contact Officer, including essential skills, tips, and techniques.
  • Practical exercises, including role play and case studies, to assess and address concerns.

  • Duration:
    • New Contact Officers: Full-day (6 hours) or two 3-hour sessions (with at least one week between sessions)
    • Refresher (for those previously trained): 3-hour session
  • Delivery: Face-to-face, online via Teams, or a combination
  • Engagement: Capped at 24 attendees per session for maximum interaction
  • Pricing:
    • Full-day: $4,900 or $4,500 for clients with a current MyEMS subscription Refresher: $2,450 or $4,250 for clients with a current MyEMS subscription
    • (Both prices exclude GST, room hire, catering, and reasonable travel/accommodation expenses for sessions outside the Adelaide metropolitan area).
